He was buried with his wife, Ankhesenamun, and his treasures are in this tomb.
His tomb was remarkably intact and preserved for almost 3,000 years until it was opened by Carter.

Another famous tomb in the valley is KV5, also known as the tomb of Ramses VI (meaning “Son of Ra”).
This tomb belongs to Ramses VI, who ruled from 1186 to 1155 BC.
He was a son-in-law and successor of Ramses II (also known as Ramses the Great), one of the most powerful and successful pharaohs in history.
Ramses VI’s tomb features over 120 chambers, each dedicated to his wives, children, servants, chariots, weapons, jewelry, statues, furniture, and other items. It is one of the largest and most complex tombs ever built.
